The Tyndall Family Amateur Radio Club was founded in 2010. W4TFR is the club call sign. Scott Tyndall, KJ4BIZ, is the trustee. Our purpose is to promote technical training, fellowship with other hams, and emergency preparedness.

What Is Amateur Radio?

Amateur radio is a hobby for most that allows them to talk around the world to other operators. There are designated frequencies that amateur radio operators can talk on. Amateur radio operators are often called hams. There is also a serious side to amateur radio. Amateur radio is used during emergencies when cell phones, landlines and the internet are down.
